About the Opportunity

The role of Project Coordinator is a critical role in the Blackrock business. The Project Coordinator will be based onsite at one of our client's mine sites and will manage the day-to-day operations for the ventilation, secondary support and consolidation contract.

Within Blackrock, the role will report directly to the Underground Operations Manager and Project Manager.

The role involves:

• planning of day to day activities and scheduling work into the 24hr and weekly plan
• stock management – ensure adequate levels of consumables onsite at all times
• weekly invoicing and timesheet review
• scoping of jobs for quotes and PO
• liaise with various stakeholders onsite including, VO, Superintendents, Undermanagers and production managers
• manage UG crews to ensure appropriate manning levels
• manage team and individual performance of crews
• provide regular updates to Blackrock Management

The successful candidate will have experience in varied services including VCD installation and maintenance, secondary support installation, strata consolidation, outbye operations, and general mine services.  As part of a small team you will get to expand your skills and be well treated by a company that values its employees above all else

About You

To qualify for this role, you must hold a current S123 G2 and Standard 11 (Surface and Underground) certification. Essential to this role is a minimum of 2 years of experience in the Underground Coal Mining Industry. Additionally, a valid “C” Class Australian driver’s licence is required. 

We highly value the following skills and background:

• Underground coal experience with a focus on ventilation, secondary support and consolidation
• Demonstrated similar experience as a project manager and leading teams
• Current Underground Coal Board Medical (CBM)
• RIIMCU302D - Construct and maintain ventilation devices
• Training in chemical application (e.g. PUR, Geoflex and Carbofill)
• Signed copies of training transcripts and/or authorisations
